Gale has been designing solar and energy-efficient homes for more than
12 years, including the energy-independent home she has been living in for
eight years. That home is entirely off the utility grid, and has been
featured innumerous publications, including Solar Today and Fine Home Building.
Gale is a licensed general contractor and has more than 17 years of experience
in construction administration, estimating, and job site supervision. She serves
on the Arizona Solar Energy Advisory Council, Arizona Energy Policy Advisory
Council, and Tucson's Metropolitan Energy Commission. She is on the team that
wrote the Civano Energy Code. In addition, Gale has helped found several community
initiatives in sustainable development, including Women for Sustainable Technologies.
